Smash Bro’z In San Francisco! Part1 :)

What’s up readers!
Quick update!

The Smash Bro’z were invited to perform in USA a few months ago and after gruelling rehearsals and fate constantly trying to stop us reaching the event we are proud to announce that we have just returned back from the prestigious San Francisco HipHop Dancefest event in San Francisco and successful in repping the UNITED KINGDOM and BIRMINGHAM with honours!!!!

I’ll start the journey from the beginning and I’ll write it in parts so you don’t get bored with reading the same paragraph for ages :p

So me, Aundre Brown, Jahmai Jones and Lina Bivainyte (girlfriend and photographer) left the Dancegeek’s crib at 3.40am 20th via taxi to Birmingham International Airport, this has to have been one of the best moments of the whole trip and it hadn’t really started yet 🙂 basically we all had to check in and AUNDRE BROWN aka DRE! Had to be himself and bring all his products with him that where over the regulated amount allowed on board! So we are all looking at dre being frisked and watching the guards remove, ever so slowly one by one from his bag a FULL BOTTLE OF BABY LOTION, A FULL SIZE TUBE OF VASALINE and some other products, about 6 in total and just binned them right in front of his eyes! Was the best thing I have ever saw because this could only happen to dre! Plus the mysterious thought of what would have happened if dre got through with the vasaline and baby lotion! Hahahahahahhaahahahahha 🙂

Anyways after that we waited on the comfy massage armchairs for a few hours contemplating the long ass flight ahead of us and I’m not talking about our first flight which was our 6.40am to Paris which lasted about an hour and forty minutes which got us to paris at 9.20am Paris time which is an hour forward!! Just some common knowledge for those who don’t have a blackberry to tell you this! :p

Anyways we arrived in the land of romance to find it not that romantic since it was raining…………… O_o but this was not our driving trail of thought at this moment in time!

Finding our bags were!!!!
We are now waiting by the luggage belt for our bags which only an hour before our connecting flight departs for San Francisco. And after half an hour we are still waiting and the belt has stopped moving as if to say that’s all the luggage there was on the plane??? Confused an baffled I sent dizzy (Jahmai) to ask one of the airport staff as I was too pissed off to ask her myself! 😦

Dizzy returns with the women and she asks if we have a connecting flight and I said “yes” she said “well then your luggage has gone straight on board that plane”……… There was a lil pause and I think we all mentally slapped ourselves and ran like hell to find our boarding gate!

With only like 20minutes to spare before flight departs we make it on board the plane. Feeling slightly silly we strap in for what we didn’t expect would be the flight of death! Lol

Plane took off smoothly and we were off! So far everything was going ok, seats where all good, enough leg room, tv in the front headrest with a good range of film choice’s for the dry and none dry people like myself :p our first meal was about to be served, If I remember correctly it was choice between beef and chicken! Guess which one I chose………? For those people who believe the common prejudice that black people only love and eat chicken and that I chose the chicken over the beef then…………………YOUR RIGHT! LOL
But in doing so the meal was actually quiet nice and I was happy in food heaven. Hehe
Moving on from bliss, a few hours on came the butt cramp and early signs of jet-lag :/ unlucky for me I’ve never been able to sleep for more than 30mins in uncomfortable positions. ie planes, coaches and trains. So while everyone was fast asleep with there mini pillows and eye masks on, I was dieing in uncomfortable positions waiting for the next meal which to my surprise was some cold crap that I couldn’t even describe to you! This was the same for the light sandwiches that followed another few hours later with was basically some dry bread involved with some smelly french cheese which almost made me throw up everywhere.

That was practically the highlights of the plane journey there which by the way took 11 hours and 40 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I guess it was worth it after all the unnecessary security checks to smell the fresh air and glance the beautiful clear sky of San Francisco 🙂

Air smelled a lot cleaner out there 🙂

So we had arrived and was waiting for are liaison Cindy arrive and pick us up and take us too are hotel. We wait for a few minutes and a massive SUV pulls up with the sign attached below to this blog post.

O yes! That’s what it said! When you mention the UK dance scene outside of the UK they only know london! This is why we ventured outside of our island to spread the birmingham/UK name.

This concludes part 1, part 2 will follow shortly 🙂
